How we work

When we review matters brought to us, we aim for the option that best matches our clients needs, and we are careful with client resources (and ours).

A lawsuit may not always be your best option. Legal disputes are inevitably trying, expensive, and difficult. Each case is unique and its outcome depends on many factors, including the particular facts and the laws applicable to that case's specific circumstances. Law firms cannot guarantee the outcome of litigation. Lawsuits should be undertaken only with careful attention to the risks and potential benefits.

Nonetheless, a lawsuit may be the only, or the best option, for vindicating your rights.  Or one may arrive unwelcome at your door.  We can help.

Because of our reputation, we can negotiate some disputes to a favorable conclusion without legal action.  Some matters can be mediated.  We do not, however, waste time in fruitless discussions.  Many disputes have to be taken to court before they are taken seriously.  This may even happen because some law firms use litigation to run up their clients' legal bills and finance lavish lifestyles for senior lawyers.

We are dead serious about lawsuits.  If active litigation is necessary, we bring to bear many years of lawsuit experience.  We will systematically advance our clients' cause whether those clients are private citizens, consumers, shareholders, business owners, property owners, or communities.

We aim to do right on behalf of clients who are in the right. We regularly represent municipalities, citizens, small businesses, shareholders, business owners, and non-profit organizations in their legal disputes with:

Utility companies

Companies that pollute the environment or threaten health

Advertisers who make false claims

Executives or co-owners who abuse their positions of power

Individuals who abscond with business assets

Businesses and individuals that fail their contract obligations

Over-reaching government agencies

We purposefully represent both plaintiffs and defendants.  We think doing so makes us better lawyers.

The law is complicated, both in its substance and in its procedure.  The information and material on this website are not legal advice! Reading the information here or sending us an email does not create an attorney-client relationship.   We provide the materials on this site for informational purposes only.  Though we try to be accurate and keep up to date, we cannot guarantee the information you read this site to be correct, complete, or up-to-date. If you have a specific problem that you think involves legal issues, nothing can substitute for a personal conference with a qualified lawyer.  When you have that discussion (with us or with another lawyer), be sure to be ready to discuss your case from all angles (a good lawyer will help you do this), and bring your documents!
